2 arrested in Nepalgunj for smuggling banned medicines from India
KATHMANDU: Two people have been arrested in Nepalgunj for allegedly having illegal drugs. Chhote Lal Tharu and Bhunsi Tharu, inhabitants of Kohalpur Municipality-15, were apprehended on July 15 at Jamunaha, Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City-15, while going from Rupaidiha in India.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Narayan Dangi, spokesperson for the Banke District Police Office, reported that Bhunsi attempted to conceal 1000 pieces of Vocet and 1000 pieces of Nimesulide tablets in a plastic bag while riding pillion on Chhotelal's motorcycle (Ba 10 Pa 2258). The seized drugs have been forwarded to the Nepalgunj office of the Department of Drug Administration for further legal proceedings.
