15 Bangladeshi nationals arrested in Kathmandu for overstaying visas
KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office has detained fifteen individuals from Bangladesh for their illegal entry into Nepal and overstaying visas. The arrests raised ongoing concerns about the region's adherence to immigration regulations when they were made public on Wednesday.
The office's communications officer, Kaji Kumar Acharya, stated that the arrests happened in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26 neighborhoods of Thamel and Sorakhutte. Because the suspects had entered Nepal on separate occasions and were reportedly involved in questionable activities, suspicions were raised over their objectives.
Once the individuals were apprehended, they were sent to the Department of Immigration for further processing. This measure shows how committed the authorities are to stopping immigration violations and maintaining national security.
