Google’s connecting Spotify to its Gemini AI assistant
Spotify supports Google Geminiextensions. This allows users to search and regenerate music using the request of artificial intelligence using the requests of natural language. The expansion was first discovered in the Google application code in June, but according to 9to5 Google, it is a compatible Android device.
Gemini can play music found by song title, artist name, album title, playlist title, or specific activity, but it won't create playlists or radio stations on Spotify at this time. One thing to note is that if you're already connected to another music service, like YouTube Music, you'll need to verbally tell (or type) which service you want Gemini to use as part of your initial request. It will go from there, and it will. It will default to the last one used. Spotify is the second application without Google who received twin abilities after the WhatsApp support, which began in October.
The extended page of Google Support Page describes that the Spotify account and Google account are necessary to use the Geminiapplication first, and can refrain from AI requests within 72 hours. You need to enable your activity. You won't be able to use the Spotify extension in Google Messages, the Gemini web app, or the Gemini app on iOS, and it only works if Gemini is initially set to English.
