Gemini is making Gmail’s smart replies smarter
Google is releasing a Gemini-based Gmail update for Android and iOS to better tailor smart email replies. First announced in May, Google said the new contextual Smart Replies would take into account the entire content of a thread to "suggest more detailed replies to capture the full meaning of a message." Users can first find the intelligent response of contexts provided to display textbooks and select the options that are optimal for your needs and writing styles.
The provided response can be changed or transmitted immediately. This will save you time (especially if they're often buried in your Gmail inbox) and increase the variety of your auto responses beyond a simple "Yes, we're working on it" or "No worries, thanks for letting us know," and will also include opening greetings and closing messages.
The new Contextual Smart Replies are currently rolling out to Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, Education Premium, and Google One AI Premium subscribers. This feature is currently only available in English and is based on the original Smart Replies feature added to Gmail in 2017.
