Threads now lets you tag your location
Meta is an opportunity to mark your place to your location. If you have this feature, a pin code will be displayed in the post composer. Click this to excite where you are. Please note that adding your location to Stream Post does not have a precise output on the card.
Instead, the function allows you to give your users an approximate idea of your location, sharing things like the name of the city, the district or the restaurant. Also, if you see a post in a thread that contains a specific location, you can click on the location to see other posts from the same location.
I have this feature and I use it. When you click on a pin in the post editor, Threads gives you a few options: You can stick to a general view and tag Portland, Oregon, where you live, or you can choose from more specific locations. If you're used to tagging your location in your Instagram posts, Threads' approach should be familiar to you.
Threads' location tagging feature appears to only be available on the mobile apps at the moment it's on iOS but not on the web so hopefully it won't be too long before it makes its way to desktop browsers.
