98% of paddy cultivation completed in Bara
KATHMANDU: Ninety-eight percent of paddy cultivation has been completed in the district, according to Raj Narayan Prasad Shah, Chief of the Agriculture Knowledge Centre. Out of the targeted 46,020 hectares for this year, paddy has been planted in 45,099 hectares, with the remaining 921 hectares expected to be completed within a week.
This year’s planting includes varieties such as Hardinath-1, Chaite-2, Chaite-4, Radha-4, Bhadaiya, Sawa Mansuli, Radha-11, 9, and 7. Last year, farmers cultivated the same area and produced 191,062 metric tons of paddy.
