8 injured in bus accident in Kaski
KATHMANDU: Eight individuals were injured in a bus accident that occurred in Lewade, Annapurna Rural Municipality-1, Kaski, as the bus was en route to Beni from Kathmandu. The accident involved a bus bearing registration number Ba 5 Kha 285, which overturned on the right side of the road at a ravine around 3:45 PM.
Among the 13 passengers onboard, eight sustained injuries. The bus driver, 36-year-old Bal Bahadur Fagami Magar from Jaljala Rural Municipality-8, Parbat, is being treated at Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara. Additionally, Hari KC, aged 57, from Simaha Mangala Rural Municipality-1, and 25-year-old Ranjana Hamal from Myagdi are also receiving treatment at Manipal Hospital.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Basanta Kumar Sharma from the District Police Office in Kaski provided details on the injured individuals. Among them, 39-year-old Tak Badaur Kamu from Malika, Myagdi, and 45-year-old Prem Pun from Niskot, Mangala Rural Municipality-1, Myagdi, are being treated at Gandaki Medical College. Tilak Sharma, 57, from Malika-8, and 15-year-old Sabita Sripali from Dargang have also been taken to Gandaki Medical College. Additionally, Bhimsen Adhikari, 17, from Darbang, is undergoing treatment at Beni Hospital.
The bus remains at the accident site, and authorities are conducting further investigations to determine the cause of the accident.
