Over 73,000 Startups in India Have at Least One Female Director
India is home to more than 73,000 new companies with at least one-woman director, recognised under the Startup India activity, the Service of Commerce & Industry stated on Wednesday.
The service, in a discharge, highlighted that this speaks to about half of the 1,57,066 startups upheld by the government, underscoring the crucial role women play in driving advancement and financial growth.
India has risen as one of the most dynamic startup environments all inclusive, securing its position as the third-largest startup center. With over 100 unicorns, the Indian startup scene is forming the future of advancement and entrepreneurship.
The entrepreneurial spirit in India has experienced a paradigm shift over the final decade. Cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Delhi-NCR have ended up epicentres of innovation.
The widespread availability of reasonable web, coupled with a young and dynamic workforce, has fuelled the development of new businesses in differing divisions, counting fintech, edtech, health-tech, and ecommerce.
According to the "Indian Startup Environment Report" by Startup India, India's new businesses have utilized rising innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and IoT to address both nearby and global challenges.
This culture of innovation, upheld by incubators, accelerators, and strong mentoring systems, has fostered a unique ecosystem that interfaces grassroots challenges with cutting-edge solutions.
Recognising the transformative potential of new businesses, the Indian government has presented a few activities to back and sustain entrepreneurship.
The flagship StartupIndia program, propelled in 2016, has been a foundation of this exertion. As of December 25, 2024, 157,066 new businesses have been perceived by the Division for Advancement of Industry and Internal Exchange (DPIIT), with 759,303 clients enrolled on the portal.
