Verizon's new V logo comes as the borders blur between 5G, Fios, and streaming
Verizon is ditching its trademark red and yellow "V" and debuting a new ad that revisits its "Can you hear me now?" It also announced updated home Internet plans, now called "myHome," that include different bundles of services like Disney+ and Netflix, as well as cloud storage options or a Walmart+ subscription. The ad "now" includes video streaming, TikToks, gaming and FaceTiming to emphasize that this connection is much stronger than in the 2002 ad campaign. . (Former Verizon employee Paul Marcarelli left for Sprint in 2016, which was not mentioned.)
Meanwhile, each MyHome service has so far been priced at $10 per month, the same as the myPlan service. Later this summer, the company announced that it will also begin offering Apple One along with iCloud Plus, Apple Arcade, Apple TV Plus and Apple Music. (It's not disclosing its price, though.) It also has its own cloud storage offering, which costs $10 a month. Internet plans, most of which will be 5G or LTE fixed wireless plans, start at $35.99 a month if you sign up for its phone plans and autopay. If you're lucky, 5G plans can reach speeds of 300Mbps (or up to gigabit with the 5G Home Plus service). Verizon says its LTE plans can achieve download speeds of up to 50 Mbps. This price also applies to its Fios plans.
