TikTok parent ByteDance reportedly values itself at $300 billion
According to a new report from the Wall Street Journal, Chinese company ByteDance, which owns TikTok, has valued itself at $300 billion in recent acquisitions. That number sounds good, considering the Wall Street Journal previously reported that ByteDance was acquired in September 2022 for $300 billion. 26% to $223 billion.
In April, President Joe Biden signed a bill that would ban TikTok from selling its short-form video app in the U.S. unless ByteDance sells. The company has nine months to sell, and the executive has the opportunity to extend the deadline by another three months. (ByTedance filed a lawsuit against the US government, demanding its ban.)
