Gmail is by far the most popular email service, but competition led by Outlook and ProtonMail is fast growing, according to a TechRadar poll
A recent poll conducted by TechRadar shows that Gmail continues to dominate as the most popular email service today.
Google's email service, considered an April Fool's Day joke when it was first launched on April 1, 2004, leads the poll with 1,900 votes, or about 69 percent of total responses, according to the poll. In second place, Outlook had a surprisingly strong showing with 319 votes, or about 11.5% of those polled. This shows that Microsoft's email service has a significant user base, underscoring its continued importance in a market often seen as dominated by Google. ProtonMail, known for its focus on security and privacy, also shows a significant presence with 57 votes, about 2% of the total. This indicates a growing trend among users who prioritize encrypted communications and secure email services. Other email services in the survey include Yahoo Mail (118 votes, 4.3%), Apple iCloud (152 votes, 5.5%), GMX (15 votes, 0.5%) and AOL (13 votes, 0, 5%). The support they have received highlights the continued persistence of the email service provider, as well as the reluctance of users to go elsewhere, potentially losing a well-known email address. Finally, the results of public opinion also revealed an interesting aspect of the E -Past market: a large number of users prefer smaller, key -E -E -EERAIIL service providers.
The "other" category received 280 votes that make up approx. 10.2 % of the total amount. The vast majority of this category illustrates the diverse landscape of email services that address niche needs or offer unique features not found in more established email providers.
