Dragon's Dogma 2 for PS5 and Xbox Series X and S Now Supports High/Low Graphics Settings
Dragon’s Dogma 2 developer Capcom has released a new update for the game title, adding a long-awaited graphics option that should help fix frame rate issues.
The sequel to the fantasy role-playing game, which was released earlier this year on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, suffers from frame rate issues, especially in areas with a lot of NPCs, such as city centers. This issue has plagued Dragon's Dogma 2 since launch, despite various updates released since then.
With the release of this new update (see patch notes below), issues related to CPU overload in certain situations (which was blamed for Dragon's Dogma 2 framerate issues) are fixed. Capcom said it should improve the image speed in many NPC regions.
At the same time, versions of the PS5 and Xbox series X and S can now choose to change graphical settings to high/low. Capcom said the graphics settings are converted to a low "further improvement in image speed". Players on Steam can already achieve the same result by changing the graphics settings. "Further updates are also planned to further increase the frame rate," Capcom added. There is also an option to turn on/off the 120Hz output on the console. "If your monitor supports 120Hz output, this may make the game display smoother," Capcom said, before warning, "This setting does not guarantee 120fps."
This update brings several other improvements to Dragon's Dogma 2, including welcome additions to selling items from the inventory menu. The maximum amount of items that can be stored has been increased from 99 to 999.
