Missing woman found dead in Baitadi, Nepal
KATHMANDU: A tragic incident unfolded in Baitadi as the body of a woman who had been missing for three days was discovered on Monday. Police spokesperson and inspector Bala Ram Pandey confirmed that Hemanti Giri, 22 years old and a resident of Damsaina, Lekam Rural Municipality-4, Darchula, was found deceased.
According to Inspector Pandey, Giri's body was located at the confluence of the Mahakali and Chameliya rivers at Dobhan Khutiya in Dasharathchand Municipality-6, Baitadi. Local residents alerted the authorities upon spotting the body.
Giri had been reported missing from her home since June 22. It has been disclosed that she was married. The District Police Office in Baitadi has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death, with further inquiries ongoing.
