Inspector Binu Kumari Shahi relieved of duties amid allegations of criminal gain in Lalitpur
KATHMANDU: Allegations of illicit benefit have led to the dismissal of Inspector Binu Kumari Shahi from the Bhainsepati Police Sector in Lalitpur. This determination is the result of an inquiry carried out by the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, which has established an investigative committee under the direction of DSP Narahari Adhikari of the Lalitpur District Police Office.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Naresh Raj Subedi claims that there is proof suggesting Inspector Shahi may have been involved in irregularities. He affirmed that the investigation is still underway and that two people have already been taken into custody in relation to the matter.
Inspector Shahi is charged with holding up a businessman and helping to arrange a thirty lakh rupee transaction. Concerns over her behavior and ethics as a police officer have been raised by reports that she instructed the money to be transferred into an account opened in a relative's name.
The investigative committee is supposed to submit a report as soon as feasible after conducting a thorough examination into the accusations made against Inspector Shahi. The prompt action is indicative of the police's dedication to accountability and openness when managing internal affairs.
