Government reduces lunch break to 30 minutes to improve efficiency
KATHMANDU: The government has declared that workers in government offices will now only get a 30-minute lunch break instead of an hour. Using social media to disseminate the news of this adjustment, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli cited complaints of service interruptions during the prolonged lunch break. The old lunch break schedule of 1 PM to 2 PM will be replaced with a new one of 1:30 PM to 2 PM.
The goal of the decision is to reduce operational disruptions brought on by the lengthier vacation and to preserve improved service continuity. The PM underlined how crucial it is to strike a balance between the necessity of maintaining efficient work operations and employees' demand for lunch.
Additionally, citizens are encouraged to report any breaches of this new policy through the 'Hello Sarkar' platform, should government employees fail to comply with the updated lunch schedule.
