Flooding in Kathmandu as rivers surpass danger levels due to continuous rain
KATHMANDU: Concern has been expressed in several places as a result of the flooding in several rivers throughout Kathmandu caused by the two days of nonstop rain.
Rising water levels have seriously impacted the riverbanks of Shivapuri, Sundarijal, and Godavari, endangering the lives of the inhabitants nearby.
According to the Weather Forecast Division, the Bagmati River's water levels have increased to dangerous heights, particularly in places like Khokana, Gaurighat, and Balkhu.
In addition, the Bishnumati and Balambu rivers have reportedly flooded, and the water level in Kathmandu's Gongabu Bus Park has increased past tolerable limits.
Residents in low-lying areas have received caution from authorities to proceed with caution as rising flood levels could endanger lives and property.
The Weather Forecast Division has issued a supplementary warning, stating that rain is predicted to continue for a few more days, raising the possibility of more floods and other issues.
