Devotees flock to Pashupatinath and Shiva temples across Nepal today
KATHMANDU: Beginning early in the morning, devotees have started pouring into the Kathmandu Pashupatinath temple and other Shiva shrines throughout Nepal. The reason for this increase in visitation is that Mondays and the month of Shrawan are important days for Lord Shiva worship, bringing big groups of people to these hallowed locations.
The Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has implemented necessary arrangements to accommodate the influx of devotees and Bol Bum revelers. Measures include enhanced security, volunteer mobilization, worship management, health camps, and the provision of drinking water to ensure a smooth experience for worshippers.
In addition to Pashupatinath, devotees have also been visiting other notable Shiva temples, such as Gokarneshwor, Santaneshwor, Doleshwor, Kirateswor, Bhaleshwor, and temples in Sanga, Devghat, and Galeshwor, where they partake in holy dips and offer prayers. These activities highlight the religious fervor and cultural importance of this period for the followers of Lord Shiva.
