KATHMANDU: In Mechinagar Municipality-3, an elephant was found dead near the Sukhiya River's bank in ward 3 of Dhardhare Tole. The discovery was reported by local residents who promptly informed the District Police Office and the Division Forest Office. Upon receiving the notification, teams from these agencies swiftly responded to the scene.

Krishna Bahadur Chand, spokesman for the Jhapa District Police, said that veterinary professionals from Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve will arrive shortly to examine the deceased elephant. The purpose of this study is to discover the reason for the elephant's death and identify any relevant contributing circumstances.
