Couple found dead in Hetauda, police suspect murder-suicide
KATHMANDU: On Wednesday, there was a tragic event in Latinath of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City. Keshav Bhandari, 62, and his wife Ambika, 56, were discovered dead in their home. Keshav was found dangling from an iron hook on the ceiling, and Ambika had sustained a sharp-edged neck stab.
The situation was uncovered when a local woman visited the couple's residence to check on Ambika, who had not responded to phone calls. She found the house locked, prompting the discovery of the bodies. Preliminary police investigations suggest that Keshav may have killed his wife before taking his own life. Keshav had been taking antidepressants for four months, according to reports.
The couple's son and daughter-in-law were not home at the time of the occurrence. Blood samples gathered at the crime scene will be forensically investigated in Kathmandu. An inquiry is still ongoing to determine the full facts surrounding the fatalities.
