Body of missing boy found in Tila River, APF diving team aids in recovery
The missing boy who disappeared while swimming in the Tila River on Tuesday has been found deceased. Ganesh Nepali, the Chief District Officer (CDO), confirmed that the Armed Police Force (APF) diving team from Surkhet, dispatched to Kalikot, successfully located the body. The victim, identified as Hikmat Bam, aged 14 and hailing from Tilagufa-7, was discovered in the river.
CDO Nepali commended the efforts of the diving team, emphasizing the challenging nature of the search operation. Despite prior efforts by police and relatives, locating the body proved difficult until the arrival of the specialized team.
The tragic incident occurred when Hikmat Bam was swept away while swimming in the Tila River near Tilagufa-6 Galje on Tuesday afternoon. A student at Satya Devi Secondary School in Kalikot, he was the son of Narendra Bam from Chapre, Tilagufa-5, who operated an eatery in the municipality.
Following the retrieval of the body by Inspector Kamal KC and his APF diving team, local authorities oversaw the transfer of the deceased to his family for proper arrangements.
