Bodies of 4 missing after Gorkha landslide have been recovered
KATHMANDU: The bodies of four people who were missing after a landslide in Dharche Rural Municipality 5 of Gorkha district have been discovered. The remains of Ramesh Gurung, 33, Suklal Kancha Gurung, 60, Jit Bahadur Gurung, 37, and his wife Kanchi Gurung, 35, have been discovered. The bodies were found by the Nepal Police, Armed Police, Army, and other local officials.
Five people had originally been reported missing after the landslide, and efforts are still ongoing to find the remaining person, 24-year-old Ramesh Pariyar, a tractor driver whose body has yet to be recovered. The search for Pariyar continues as teams work to find him.
In addition to the casualties, Dilip Gurung (35), and Kham Bahadur Gurung (27), who suffered severe injuries in the landslide, were taken to Kathmandu for medical attention.
