36 people rescued from affected areas after heavy rainfall causes flooding in Kathmandu
KATHMANDU: As a result of the heavy rains, numerous districts of Kathmandu are experiencing flooding. According to Nepal Police spokesperson Dan Bahadur Karki, 12 persons have been rescued from Kathmandu and 24 from Lalitpur. In Kathmandu, 11 individuals were rescued from the Kuleshwar and Balkhu areas, with one additional rescue from the New Bus Park area.
Floodwaters have inundated several locations in Kathmandu, including Balkhu, the vegetable market, Bafal, the Dhobi Khola corridor, and Sundari Ghat. Additionally, a landslide in Nagpokhari of Futung has damaged a house, and flooding has affected the areas around the New Bus Park and Miteri Bridge.
In Lalitpur, the rescue operations included two people from UN Park, eight from Sundari Ghat, one from Balkumari Bridge, seven from Changathali in Mahalaxmi Municipality-8, and six from Ram Mandir in Mahalaxmi Municipality.
