2 killed by lightning strike in Jhapa, Nepal
KATHMANDU: There was an incident on Tuesday morning in the Jhapa district where a lightning strike killed two males. The fatalities have been named as Rajan Khadka, 46, of Kamal Rural Municipality-2, and Bikash Giri, 42, of Gairigunj Rural Municipality-8.
Preliminary statements from the police, Bikash Giri, 18, died on the spot at the scene of the shooting while Rajan Khadka, 24, succumbed to bullet wounds as he was being rushed to AMDA Hospital in Damak.
The case came as a painful reminder asserting that the occurrence of lightning is deadly, especially during the period when monsoons are commonplace.
