The Tourism Minister, Tamang, is finding new places to bring in more tourists
He said the mooted collaboration between the government and the private sector was to yield 1.6 million foreign tourists in the coming financial year, up from 1 million in 2023.
Tamang has mentioned activities to develop new attractions like the Eco Slope Station in association with private entities. He further highlighted the natural beauty of Nepal, its lakes and the Himalayan range, and its cultural and religious sites such as Lumbini, Pashupatinath, and Muktinath, which are of interest to both domestic and Indian tourists.
Tamang has emphasized reducing taxes, demands on tourism, and developing infrastructure as a way to have tourists stay longer in Nepal. Nearness on the global tourism map and establishment of tourist activities, he underlined, like mountain climbing and eco-tourism, can help in the economic growth of the country.
