Karnali Yaks set 142-run target for Janakpur Bolts
KATHMANDU: In Monday's Nepal Premier League game at Kirtipur, Karnali Yaks set a goal of 142 runs for the Janakpur Bolts. The Yaks lost seven wickets and scored 141 runs at the end of their 20 overs.
Yaks captain Gulsan Jha led the team in scoring with 36 runs, followed by Arjun Gharti with 33. Shikhar Dhawan scored fourteen runs, and Sompal Kami contributed twenty-nine. Chadwick Walton, who scored eight runs, and Babar Hayat, who scored twelve, both made noteworthy contributions. Zeeshan Maqsood and Dev Khanal had a difficult time; Maqsood failed to score while Khanal gave up just one run.
The Bolts' bowling attack was led by Mohammad Mohsin, who took two wickets. Harsh Thaker, Lalit Rajbanshi, James Neesham, and Kishore Mahato each claimed one wicket, which reduced the Yaks' total.
The Bolts set a target of 142 runs after the Yaks won the toss and decided to bat first. However, despite some strong individual performances, they were unable to reach a better total.
