After a Decade Nepal Plays Against Bangladesh
Nepal's last group-stage match at the T20 World Cup 2024 is against Bangladesh. They have already been disqualified from the Super 8 stage of the competition, therefore this match will also be their final appearance in this World Cup.
This will be the first occasion that Bangladesh and Nepal have faced each other in ten years. This will only be their second meeting; the first was in the 2014 T20 World Cup, which Bangladesh won by an eight-wicket margin.
Nepal has only played two games in the series, and is presently ranked fourth on the points table, whereas Bangladesh has played three matches and is currently ranked second.
This T20I encounter between Nepal and a Test-playing country will be their eighth. They have previously faced South Africa, Zimbabwe, India, Bangladesh, Ireland, and Sri Lanka.
In T20Is and ODIs, Nepal has yet to triumph over a test-playing country. In the 2014 T20 World Cup, Nepal overcame Afghanistan, despite not being a Test-playing country at the time.
Following a sad one-run loss to South Africa in their last game, Nepal was eliminated from the Super 8 competition. They lost to the Netherlands in their opening match of the tournament, and the weather called off their second game against Sri Lanka.
