A Bangladeshi bowler fined for going against the ICC Code of Conduct
Bangladeshi seamer Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who violated the code of conduct on Sunday, was fined fifteen percent of his match fee.
The incident happened in the third over of the Nepali chase, when Tanzim and Nepal captainRohit Paudel engaged in a lively argument mid-pitch.
Tanzim bowled a match-winning 4/7 to cap off an outstanding performance during the game. Bangladesh won by a margin of 21 runs.
The ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, Article 2.12, on "inappropriate physical contact with a Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee or any other person (including a spectator during an International Match)," was found to have been violated by Tanzim.
On-field umpires Ahsan Raza, Sam Nogajski, Jayaraman Madanagopal, and fourth umpire Kumar Dharmasena all reported on Sakib. Sakib waived the need for a formal hearing after acknowledging the wrongdoing and its repercussions.
