11.91 billion rupees has been invested by the government for the purpose of supporting the tourism sector
The Finance Minister said that 11.91 billion rupees has been allocated to various programs under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
In this, 3.77 billion rupees will be utilized to strengthen the civil aviation sector, while 5.46 billion rupees would go towards improving the tourism infrastructure. The budget also makes provisions to result in the upgrading and modernizing of domestic airports all over the country.
The Minister Pun profiled some of the specific projects, including completion of construction framework for Nijgadh airport and allocation of 360 million rupees for upgradation work of the Bharatpur airport where facilitation of air sports activities will be done.
The overall goal of this budget is to attract 1.6 million tourists in the upcoming fiscal year. Similarly, 5.46 billion rupees have been allocated for religious tourism, transportation and physical infrastructure development, expansion of religious circuits, and promotion of overall tourism development in all parts of Nepal.
