11 metric tons of garbage including 4 dead bodies from mountains collected by the Nepali Army
Recently, it collected 11 metric tons of wastes, including four dead bodies and one human skeleton from various mountain tracts like Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Nupse. The effort was 55 days long starting from April 1, wherein the cleaning team itself topped the Everest.
According to Sanjay Deuja, Collaborator Executive of National Parks and Wild-life Save Directorate, among the collected wastage 2,226 kilograms were biodegradable and 8,774 kilograms were non-biodegradable. The biodegradable wastage was handed over to the Everest Pollution Control Committee in Namche and non-biodegradable wastage was moved to Kathmandu for its reusing process.
