PM KP Oli returns to Nepal after 10-Day US visit for UN General Assembly
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to return to Nepal today following a ten-day trip to the US, during which he participated in the 79th UN General Assembly. On September 20, he left for the United States and is scheduled to land in Kathmandu at 4 PM.
Prime Minister Oli participated in a number of high-level meetings and conversations while in the country. He spoke on "Nepal's Journey of Democracy and Economic Prosperity" on September 23 at a Columbia University event.
Oli participated in a reception hosted by US President Joe Biden on September 25 after attending the UN General Assembly's opening session on September 24.
On September 26, he addressed the UN General Assembly, outlining Nepal's positions on a number of global concerns.He also spoke on September 27 at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum, covering topics including "Transitional Justice to Climate Justice."
Prime Minister Oli was joined on his tour by a number of senior representatives of the Nepali government, including Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor Bishnu Rimal, and Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal. His wife, Radhika Shakya, was also with him.
