Nepal urges Israel for release of detained youth, Bipin Joshi
KATHMANDU: During a meeting with the Israeli Ambassador to Nepal, Hanan Godar, Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Bhagbati Chaudhary, appealed to Israel to take steps for the release of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali youth detained by Hamas. Minister Chaudhary emphasized the enduring bilateral relationship between Nepal and Israel, which has thrived since diplomatic ties were established in 1960.
Minister Chaudhary commended Israel's advancements in agriculture and sought Ambassador Godar's assistance in promoting agricultural growth in Nepal. She expressed appreciation for Israel's aid across various sectors, including education, employment, and agricultural development, highlighting the positive impact of their cooperation.
Recognizing the employment opportunities created by Israel for Nepali youth, particularly in the caregiver sector, Minister Chaudhary affirmed Nepal's commitment to strengthening its relationship with Israel through continued collaboration and mutual support. In response, Ambassador Godar expressed optimism about securing the swift release of Bipin Joshi and indicated plans to visit Joshi's family to address the situation further.
