KMG chairman Kailash Sirohiya arrested and detained in Janakpur
KATHMANDU: Kailash Sirohiya, the Chairman of Kantipur Media Group (KMG), was taken into custody this morning following his arrest. He was detained at the KMG Headquarters in Thapathali and subsequently transported to the Dhanusha District Police Office. At present, he remains under the custody of the Dhanusha police.
The arrest was made in response to a warrant issued by the District Court of Dhanusha on Tuesday. Acting on this warrant, authorities from the Valley Crime Investigation Office in Kathmandu apprehended Sirohiya upon the request of the Dhanusha police.
The reason for the arrest lies in a complaint registered against Sirohiya with the Dhanusha police on April 28. According to the complaint, the citizenship number obtained by Sirohiya from the District Administration Office in Dhanusha is identical to the citizenship number of another individual.
As the legal proceedings unfold, Sirohiya's arrest underscores the seriousness of the allegations leveled against him, signaling a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the citizenship issue.
