Kathmandu-Terai-Madhesh Fast Track reaches 35% completion with tunnel breakthrough
KATHMANDU: Three-quarters of the Kathmandu-Terai-Madhesh Fast Track project's physical progress has been completed, according to the Nepal Army. Increasing connection between the Terai region and Kathmandu is the aim of this important national project.
A significant milestone was achieved with the completion of the 1.728 km long Ghattepakha-Dhedre tunnel at Bakaiya Rural Municipality-12 in Makwanpur. Ambassadors from China and South Korea, as well as Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Deputy Prime Minister, and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, attended a ceremony to celebrate this breakthrough.
The track should be prepared for vehicle use by the end of 2081 BS, according to confirmation from the Nepal Army.
