Government relieves 2 NEA operators from their posts
KATHMANDU: Two of the organization's operators, Kapil Acharya and Bhakta Bahadur Pun, have been fired by the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation took this move.
Due to accusations that Acharya and Pun had not backed the government's and the Electricity Regulatory Commission's enforcement of orders pertaining to conflicts involving dedicated and trunk lines, the Ministry had earlier asked Acharya and Pun for clarifications. After examining their answers, the authorities decided that their justifications were insufficient.
As a result of this review, the Ministry decided to relieve both operators from their positions. Notably, Acharya and Pun were appointed through the quotas of the CPN (Unified Socialist) and CPN (Maoist Center) parties.
