Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba arrives in Ottawa for Women Foreign Ministers’ Meeting
KATHMANDU: Arzu Rana, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, received an invitation from Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly on Tuesday. Rana is leading a group of foreign ministers from Nepal to the Women Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Toronto on Thursday and Friday.
Rana was met at the airport by Bharat Raj Paudyal, the Nepali ambassador, as well as representatives of the Canadian protocol and the Nepali Embassy.
Foreign Minister Rana is expected to meet bilaterally in Ottawa with Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly of Canada during her visit. The purpose of this gathering is to talk about shared interests and improve diplomatic ties.
Rana will interact with the Canada-Nepal Parliamentary Friendship Group at Parliament Hill in addition to her formal meetings. It is anticipated that this exchange will strengthen the two nations' parliamentary relations.
An essential part of Foreign Minister Rana's diplomatic tour will be her attendance at a National Day event held by the Nepalese Embassy in Ottawa.
