FNJ to hold elections for new executive committee on December 13
KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) concluded its national meeting of provincial and district presidents in Bode, Madhyapurthimi, with a decision to hold elections for a new executive committee on December 13. This election will cover all three levels of the Federation.
FNJ General Secretary Roshan Puri announced that the meeting focused on resolving membership issues across the district chapters. The assembly decided to maintain the membership status in districts where consensus has been reached and to accept the lists provided by provincial chapters.
The FNJ will establish a committee that includes members from the province, the central office, and the president of the affected chapter to resolve membership problems. By mid-November, this group hopes to have finalized memberships.
Prominent members of the journalism community attended the meeting, which sought to settle long-standing membership problems. Among them were Taranath Dahal, Dr. Suresh Acharya, and Dr. Mahendra Bista, the former central presidents.
The gathering of district and provincial leaders to discuss internal organizational difficulties in advance of the 2018 elections was chaired by Acting President Bala Adhikari.
