Floods and landslides death toll reaches 239, 19 still missing
KATHMANDU: The recent floods and landslides in Nepal have claimed 239 lives as of Thursday night, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs, while 19 individuals are still listed as missing.
The Ministry's spokesperson, Rishiram Tiwari, also revealed that 177 people have been injured as a result of monsoon-related disasters.
17,131 individuals have been successfully evacuated from the districts most hit by the floods and landslides thanks to rescue efforts.
The administration has given continuing search and rescue efforts a top priority, concentrating on aiding the impacted communities.
Highways and road networks are also being repaired, especially in Bagmati Province where landslides, flooding, and other natural disasters have caused substantial damage.
