CIAA raids CAAN office in investigation of suspected irregularities
KATHMANDU: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) office in Sinamangal was raided by a team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). This operation was conducted on Wednesday as a component of the investigation into possible anomalies within the CAAN.
The CIAA team seized a number of "important" investigation-related papers during the raid. This is a reaction to previous grievances over anomalies in the building of CAAN's own building as well as other airport projects.
Reliable sources suggest that the reason behind the raid was CAAN's inability to deliver the required paperwork related to the current inquiry. In order to bolster its investigation into the purported anomalies, the CIAA seeks out proof.
To further emphasize the gravity of the accusations against the agency and its leadership, the CIAA is already looking into Pradeep Adhikari, the Director General of CAAN, for possible complicity in these irregularities.
