79th UN General Assembly begins tomorrow
KATHMANDU: Starting tomorrow, September 10, and lasting until September 30, the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will be held under the theme "Leaving No One Behind: acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development, and human dignity." The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), poverty, war, post-COVID inflation, and climate change will all be major topics of discussion throughout the event.
The high-level general discussion is scheduled for September 24–30, even though the General Assembly officially begins tomorrow. During this time, world leaders will take part in conversations on important worldwide topics.
On September 26, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will address the General Assembly on behalf of his country's position on major international issues.
During the Assembly, Nepal will give top priority to attending side events with development partners and high-level political forums. The nation wants to concentrate on cooperative initiatives and dialogues that advance its development objectives.
Nepal is dedicated to accomplishing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and will seize this chance to showcase its advancements and successes to the global community. This will be emphasized on September 22–23, 2024, at the 'Summit of the Future 2024' in New York.
