Apple Watch Series 10 will have a new design to match the Ultra 2.
The Apple Watch Series 10 will feature an all-new design that's closer to the Ultra 2 in some ways, but may surpass it in others. Looks like a slimmer body and a bigger display are coming soon. Apple Watch has seen slow growth since its debut in 2015. 8 and 9 have a case size of 41mm. You'll see a pattern here: the clock grows every three years. And it looks like this is going to happen again, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Kuo said the Series 10 "will have form factor upgrades, including a larger screen size (from 45mm/41mm to approximately 49mm/45mm) and a thinner design."
If correct, it means the larger Series 10 could have the same size case as the Apple Watch Ultra 2. The Super Series was launched in 2022. It has a vertical measurement of 49 mm, not a diagonal line on display, and larger, larger, functional and longer battery life than other watches. Therefore, the 49mm Series 10 will be an interesting ultra partner. And by the way, the smaller Series 10 will be just as big, if not bigger, than any of the larger watches in the series so far.
But if it is thinner, it may not have a longer battery life.Larger size causes another problem: weight. The Ultra and Ultra 2 have titanium cases that are light enough to handle the extra size. The Series 10 will probably come in the same aluminum and stainless steel materials as now. In this case, stainless steel can be quite heavy.
Will Apple launch the Series 10 in titanium instead of stainless steel? I don't think it would raise the price and bring it closer to the Ultra, but you never know.
Some 3D printed components are also expected: “Starting in 2H24, the Apple Watch will include components manufactured using 3D printing technology. Although there was no mass production last year, intensive tests in the past year have improved production efficiency of 3D printing significantly, ”says KUO.
