Startup Dunzo, supported by Reliance, is in crisis as cofounder Kabeer Biswas wants to leave
Since 2023, the Bengaluru-based company Dunzo has confronted challenges securing new financing to compete in the quick commerce market. Talks of cofounder Kabeer Biswas leaving the company have raised concerns around its future in a showcase ruled by well-funded rivals.
Founded in 2015 by Kabeer Biswas, Dalvir Suri, Mukund Jha, and Ankur Aggarwal, Dependence Retail-backed hyperlocal delivery startup, Dunzo has revolutionized the way customers connect with nearby stores for fast deliveries of foodstuffs, medicines, and other day by day essentials.

However, the company's travel has not been without its share of challenges, particularly in the furiously competitive speedy commerce landscape.
According to sources commonplace with the matter, Kabeer Biswas, the show CEO at Dunzo, has been in dialogs with financial specialists around his plans to step down from his role.
While a few speculators have allegedly upheld his choice, the last call rests with Dependence Retail. Agreeing to a Moneycontrol report, “Biswas has surrendered from the company and his resignation has been acknowledged, a formal declaration can be anticipated over the coming days.”
On the other hand, Reliance is separating itself from Dunzo as evident from its choice against intervening in this significant emergency period or indeed considering a buyout.
If Biswas in fact chooses to take off the company, he would connect his previous cofounders who have as of now left from Dunzo, taking off behind a leadership vacuum.
Earlier this year, the company had to downsize its workforce by laying off 150 workers to diminish costs. Also, reports propose that Dunzo's lenders have started insolvency procedures due to unpaid contribution, including to the company's woes.
