According to Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development Ramnath Adhikari, landslides and floods most frequently impact the agricultural industry. During a ceremony held at the Department of Agriculture on Monday in honor of the 44th World Food Day, an official stated that 43 districts have been labeled natural disasters by the government, with the majority of the afflicted agricultural areas.
He promised to deal with the issues faced by farmers who have been impacted by landslides and floods. The minister added that arrangements are being made to present the Council of Ministers with specifics of the damage caused by landslides and floods. Despite the fact that agriculture employs 65% of the nation's workforce, he claimed that food imports are necessary to maintain food supplies.
According to the minister official, over 6 billion worth of agricultural produce has been ruined owing to the recent floods and landslides.
