Threads has 100 million daily active users
Meta's microblogging platform, Threads, has been experiencing rapid growth since its launch last year, largely fueled by a noticeable departure of users from its competitor, X. On Monday, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared that Threads now has over 100 million daily active users, with 300 million monthly active users an increase from 275 million reported in November. This announcement marks the first time Meta has disclosed Threads' daily active user count, underscoring its upward momentum.
In recent weeks, Meta has ramped up its efforts to showcase Threads' growth, especially as rival platforms like Bluesky, which now boasts more than 25 million users, also gain traction amidst the ongoing user shift away from X. In December, Instagram head Adam Mosseri revealed that Threads has been consistently attracting 1 million sign-ups per day for the past three months.
To draw in and retain users, Meta has been rolling out a series of updates and new features on Threads. These include tools like custom feeds, curated starter packs that recommend accounts for new users to follow, and an option to customize and change the default feed experience. By introducing these enhancements, Meta aims to make Threads more user-friendly and appealing, further cementing its position as a rising player in the social media landscape.
