Ongoing postmortem process for Saurya Airlines crash victims
KATHMANDU: The postmortem examination of the 18 victims from the Saurya Airlines plane crash on Wednesday is currently underway. Seven bodies have already been examined at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, as reported by Dr. Gopal Kumar Chaudhary, Chief of the Foreign Seek Department.
Dr. Chaudhary indicated that all victims' postmortems are likely to be completed by tonight evening, and the bodies would be delivered to their families on Friday. Due to severe burns from the subsequent fire, each postmortem takes approximately four hours.
The event involved 19 passengers, all of whom were airline employees and technicians, and happened during the takeoff of a Saurya Airlines flight at Tribhuvan International Airport. The aircraft caught fire after it left the runway.
