Motorcycle rider dies, another injured in road accident in Bhaktapur
KATHMANDU: One motorcyclist in Bhaktapur lost their life in an accident, while another was seriously hurt by a tipper truck. The incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality's New Thimi, Ward No. 4. The accident involved a tipper truck bearing registration No. Bagmati Province 4 Kha 2901 and a motorcycle bearing registration No Gandaki province 7 Pa 5353 where the tipper truck hit the motorcycle from behind.
Tekendra Sharma Poudel, the Bhaktapur police spokesperson, reported that 21-year-old Subhas Tamang, originally from Mandandeupur Municipality-1 in Kavre and residing in Kamalbinayak, Bhaktapur, died in the accident. Tamang was declared dead at Madhyapur Thimi Hospital at 1:45 AM while receiving treatment. His body was sent for a post-mortem examination to Kathmandu Medical College.
Sanjeev Thapa Magar from Kamalbinayak, the motorcycle's pillion rider, was badly injured in the incident and is being treated at Madhyapur Thimi Hospital. The tipper truck driver, 28-year-old Raj Kumar Rai of Madandeupur Municipality Ward No. 6 in Kavre, has been arrested and is under investigation by police.
