Minister Rekha Sharma urges vigilance to prevent human-induced disasters
KATHMANDU: Minister for Communications and Information, Rekha Sharma, has issued a call for heightened vigilance and caution to prevent human-induced disasters such as fires and forest fires. She made these remarks in response to the recent fire incident in Rajpur Rural Municipality-7, Hadbas village of Dang.
Expressing deep sorrow over the fire that erupted in Hadbas, destroying 24 houses and 10 cow sheds, Minister Sharma, who represents Dang constituency-2 in the House of Representatives, urged all stakeholders to come together to provide relief and assistance to the affected families.
Minister Sharma emphasized the need for collective action to address the increasing incidents of fire, especially with the onset of the summer season, which have resulted in significant loss of life, property, forests, biodiversity, and crops. She called upon all relevant agencies to remain vigilant and proactive in preventing life-threatening forest fires.
The government has already instructed concerned agencies to take proactive measures to minimize the damage caused by fires and to swiftly contain any outbreaks. Minister Sharma highlighted the collaborative efforts of all three levels of government and security personnel in mitigating the impact of such disasters.
