Jeep accident in Rukum West claims 3 lives
KATHMANDU: Three individuals lost their lives, and three others sustained injuries in an accident involving a Bolero jeep in Musikot Municipality-1, Nepane of Rukum West. The incident occurred on Sunday evening while the jeep, bearing license plate Karnali Province 2001 Cha 0413, was en route to Musikot-4, Chhinkhet from Khalanga.
The deceased victims have been identified as Saugat BK, aged 27, from Thakurbaba Municipality-5, Kaligaudi (Bardiya); Dharmendra Shrestha, aged 30, from Gurbhakot Municipality-8, Mehalkuna (Surkhet); and Jit Bahadur Karki, aged 19, from Barahatal Rural Municipality-5, Baddichaur (Surkhet). Police Inspector Bakht Shahi, also the spokesperson of the District Police Office, Rukum West, stated that the accident occurred when the vehicle veered 200 meters off the road.
The critically injured individuals were rescued from the accident site and transported to the district hospital in Salle. Unfortunately, they succumbed to their injuries during treatment. The injured individuals include Sujal BK, aged 17, from Banfikot Rural Municipality-4, Chhinkhet of Rukum West; Dilip Thapa, aged 26, from Thakurbaba Municipality-5 (Bardiya); and Tikaram Khanal, aged 27, from Kaligaudi of the same municipality. The condition of BK and Khanal is critical, and they have been referred to Nepalgunj for further treatment after receiving initial treatment at the district hospital. Thapa is currently undergoing treatment at the district hospital.
