Death toll rises to 2 in Jajarkot jeep accident
KATHMANDU: Two people have died as a result of a jeep accident that happened in Jajarkot on Wednesday. A Bolero jeep (Ga 1 Ja 7711) heading from Khanalga to Neta Bazar in Bheri Municipality-6 had an accident at 3 p.m. when it veered off the road. The car plummeted 400 meters, leaving the occupants with grave injuries.
After suffering severe injuries in the collision, 80-year-old Kaliman Khatri of Bheri Municipality-6 passed away at Karnali Province Hospital in Surkhet. The jeep driver, Man Bahadur Wali, 34, passed away instantly earlier.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Purushottam Prasad Pandey from the District Police Office Jajarkot confirmed the details of the accident. Other injured passengers are receiving treatment at the District Hospital in Jajarkot.
