Bus accident in Rupandehi leaves 43 injured
KATHMANDU: In Saljhandi, Sainamaina Municipality-10, Rupandehi, a bus accident resulted in injuries to 43 individuals. The incident occurred when a bus, bearing registration number RA 1 Kha 2783, traveling from Dang to Kathmandu experienced a breakdown on the bridge at Saljhandi Bazar around 11:50 PM on Tuesday. Subsequently, the bus collided with a sand-carrying truck registered as La 1 Kha 687, leading to the accident.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Manohar Prasad Bhatta reported that among the injured were 43 individuals, including the bus driver and passengers. Local hospitals nearby provided medical assistance to the injured, with the majority being discharged by Wednesday morning. However, some individuals continue to receive treatment for their injuries.
Police officials stated that the co-driver of the bus sustained severe injuries, although his identity has not yet been confirmed. Investigations into the accident are ongoing to determine the circumstances and factors contributing to the collision.
